| Customer Reviews: Durable August 2, 2010 B. (CA) For my partiular use, this mirror has proved to be a little small. However, it has been able to withstand the elements (high winds, rain, etc). It's a good product, but not great for long distance viewing due to the small diameter and by long distance I'd say no more than 10 feet away.
great solution for a difficult problem of backing car out of garage April 9, 2010 Sylvia L. Hayes (Redford, MI USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When we moved into our house the builder was to add our garage as weather permitted. We had to wait a while before he finally got to it, and we had to talk him into giving us 16 feet as opposed to 12 feet of back out space from a garage that overlaps the back of the house. What a mistake, we bought the lot next to us from him and put in a pad to back the car out of the garage so we can pull the car straight out the drive. But my husband would watch me as I pulled the car out to make sure the front of the car didn't hit the porch that extended out from the house 4 feet, this taking 4 feet off of our negotiated 16 feet. We tried little mirrors and driveway reflectors to help us but it just didn't give me the confidence I would never hit the porch on my way out of the garage. Then I decided to look for larger convex mirrors on the internet and came up with who else but Amazon to solve our problem. The price was so reasonable we had to try it. My husband mounted it on the opposite end of our garage door and now we can see very clearly how close we are to the porch. Perfect solution to our problem.
Works and holds up to weather August 11, 2009 Michael Dorausch (Los Angeles, CA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This was a tough item for me to buy online. I was not sure if it would be right size, was sturdy enough, what the back looked like for mounting, and how good the reflection was. Fortunately, this mirror worked out fine for where I neeeded it and I ended up purchasing an additional one for another location.
So far it's held up well to local weather and elements, and best of all it didn't break when a trash truck bumped it while emptying my cans. Was easy to mount and comes with hardware. Maybe not best for commercial use (like in apartment buildings or outside stores) but it works great for spotting cars and folks on bicycles in our alley. Safety first. :)
