5 out of 5 stars So far so good   September 7, 2010

Changed both front and rear diff fluids on my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So far it's been doing well (2000 miles with the new purple). I bought five quarts and have 1.5 left over. So if you're buying for a 05+ Grand Cherokee consider maybe getting four cause it does get a little expensive.

To my surprise, the fluid is actually purple! Recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Royal Purple 75W140 in Dodge Ram 2500   July 7, 2010

I decided to change the rear axle lube in my '96 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel used for towing. (150000 miles) While at it I added a MagHytec cover to increase capacity & cooling. After studying online, I decided to use the RP 75W140 due to it's great reviews. Amazon had the best pricem & free shipping. Installation was a breeze using about 5 1/2 qts to the full mark. I don't know if I will actually feel any change but hopefully it will prevent any failures.

5 out of 5 stars A product I trust in my vehicles   September 30, 2009

I presently use this in a 2007 Dodge Nitro SXT (56,000 miles) and a 2005 Yamaha Royal Star motorcycle (shaft drive, 88,000 miles) which are both frequently operated far from population centers. I've also used this in my previous Dakota pickup truck and my Mustang hardtop, total mileage on all vehicles in excess of 500,000 miles (206,000 on the Mustang, 166,000 on the Dakota) and no problems experienced with any of them. I consider it cheap "insurance" for vehicles I depend upon to get me wherever I need to be.

4 out of 5 stars You get what you expect   December 28, 2007

The oil is purple, but after a few miles of use will turn black. But it's not really a problem since I doubt your going to be glancing at your gear oil everyday. The oil it's self has so far served me we'll. Regular maintenance (Around 50,000 miles, with no mechanical design deficiencies shouldn't be a a stretch.) The oil it's self (like any good gear oil with anti-wear properties) smells just like rotten eggs (because of the ZDDP,a antiwear compound, which contains phosphorous) so be sure and use wear old clothes when you change the gear oil.
